How Yoga Creates Space and Flexibility in Our Mind and All Areas of Our Life

What’s the most common phrase I hear people say about yoga?
⠀⠀
“I’m not flexible enough to do yoga”
⠀⠀
or
⠀⠀
“I’m not very good at it”.
⠀⠀
Actually, there’s no such thing as being good at yoga. It’s just like anything else - you get out what you put in. When I stated yoga I was extremely unco-ordinated and had no mind body connection or awareness. My mind and my emotions were a mess and I felt empty and without direction.
⠀⠀
Making time for yourself to practice any of the 8 branches of yogic philosophy is essentially “doing yoga”. And there are so many physical yoga forms - there’s plenty for children all the way through to the elderly!
⠀⠀
The interesting thing is yoga is a tool to GAIN FLEXIBILITY.
And not just physically - but in our mind and within US - our soul.
The eternal part of us that makes me me and you you.
⠀⠀
Flexibility can be seen as a way of making space - when we make space things can move freely - blood, muscles, cells, lymphatic fluid, wastes, breath, thoughts, information - anything.
⠀⠀
It’s like a road block being re-opened and letting cars drive though again, or removing a large rock from a stream so the water can flow..
⠀⠀
When we create this space we can see things and feel things more clearly, to help us decipher what is no longer needed and to make more space for something new.
